SAVG stands for South African Vacation Guide — and, read the other way, Suid-Afrikaanse Vakansie Gids. The initials come out the same in both languages, which is exactly why we chose the name.
We list self-catering holiday places across all nine provinces: beach houses on the South Coast, cottages in the Berg, farmhouses in the Karoo, bush camps on the Kruger fence and flats in the city. Every one is owned and run by an independent owner. We handle the listing, the calendar, the booking and the payment, and then we get out of the way.
What we do differently
- No fee added at checkout. The price on the listing is the price you pay. Our commission comes out of the owner’s side, not yours.
- Real availability. The calendar is the owner’s live calendar, and your dates are held from the moment you start paying.
- Built for here. You can filter for backup power, a borehole, a built-in braai, secure parking for a boat trailer — the things that actually decide a South African holiday, and that generic international sites do not ask about.
- Someone reads every listing. Nothing goes live until a person has looked at it.
